THERESA COX

I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 20 years' teaching experience. I have been tutoring for the 11+ exams since 2011. I am owner and director of '11 plus Orpington Ltd.' I am reflective & caring practitioner, who is constantly striving to be the best I can be. My students make excellent progress, which is reflected in their exam results.

 

I began my career when I qualified to teach English as a foreign language in 2002. I went on to teach foreign students in primary schools, secondary schools, language schools and universities in England, Italy, Austria, Poland, South Korea and Japan on short contracts. I passed my primary PGCE in 2004 at the University of Brighton. I have since have taught across the key stages in several schools in the Kent and Bromley boroughs. Most of my experience is in key stage 2. I have also been employed by Edexcel to mark the year 6 SAT papers for maths (level 3-5 and level 6) and spelling, grammar and punctuation (level 3-5 and level 6).

 

Throughout my career I have been judged as a good to outstanding teacher through classroom observations and Ofsted inspections. I love my job and pride myself in planning and delivering creative and challenging lessons with the learner's specific needs in mind. Children I teach make excellent progress, but more importantly I ensure that they are happy and feel good about themselves and their learning.

I have full exemplary references from headteachers and parents of children I have tutored, which are available upon request. I am also fully insured, first aid trained and hold an enhanced disclosure DBS certificate.
